DESMOFLEX TPU BLENDS

Innovative blend of thermoplastic aromatic polyetherurethane (TPU Ether) and thermoplastic elastomers based on styrenic block copolymers (TPS-S) that has been jointly developed by PTS Marketing GmbH and Bayer Material Science AG.

This unique product combines the scratch resistance, tear strength, chemical resistance, hydrolytic stability and antimicrobial growth properties of TPU together with the low temperature flexibility, easier processing and reduced cycle/cooling times of TPE.

Desmoflex is available from shore A 53 - 85 and can be used in multi-injection moulding as a bondable soft material for overmoulding ABS, PC/ABS, PC and PA6.

2-component mouldings should be conditioned at ambient temperature for 24 hours after production before any adhesion tests are carried out.

Insert moulding generally gives a reduction in adhesion of 20% if the first component is cold when over moulded with Desmoflex.
